WORKING TOGETHER WITH COUNTY TO ENCOURAGE EMPLOYEES TO “SHIFT THEIR RIDE”

The County’s Community Services Department joined forces with their Human Resources Department and SBCAG Traffic Solutions Division to promote employees to “shift their ride” this recently.  With over 40 percent of the County’s greenhouse gas emissions coming from transportation, adopting new transportation habits could make a significant contribution to reducing the County’s carbon footprint. Attendees were presented with a variety of sustainable transportation options, from exploring personal electric vehicle opportunities to carpooling and active commuting. The aim is to inspire employees to learn about the financial, environmental, and practical benefits of taking climate action. The County offered an in-person demonstration of EVs in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
