Hundreds Respond to E-Bike Safety Pledge Efforts at E-Bike Awareness Day

More than a sixteen unique organizations and countless volunteers organized the first-ever electric bike safety awareness day that took place last week during Downtown Santa Barbara Fitness Fest & E-Bike Awareness Block Party. The event showcased 22 safety and operational tips which have also be added here. The community is responding to the e-bike safety pledge with more than 396 (and counting) pledges. SBCAG Traffic Solutions EZBike Project continues the safety campaign working with employers, including a e-bike demonstration yesterday for staff, faculty, and students at UCSB. The public can continue to take the e-bike safety pledge until Sun., Feb. 12, when the safety campaign concludes with a safety demonstration and group ride starting at 11 a.m. at Santa Barbara City College. Those who complete the Safety Pledge are entered into a Rad Mission e-bike drawing that will take place on Feb. 14. Those who participate in the Feb 12 group ride get a bonus entry in the e-bike drawing.
