Employers Make Informed Decisions with Regional Commuter Survey

Commuter Survey Partnerships Continue

Since April 2023, SBCAG has surveyed nearly 1,500 commuters, working in partnership with employers such as the County of Santa Barbara, Superior Court, Redwire, Oxford Instruments Asylum Research, Curvature, RRM Design Group, L3Harris, and the City of Carpinteria. This data offers employers comprehensive benchmarking metrics and defines numbers on who drives alone, open to alternative transportation, and what measures could influence a change in commuting behavior. Using this insight, employers are actively pitching ideas, deploying programs, and analyzing their transportation options. SBCAG member agencies and partner organizations, such as transit providers and the Air Pollution Control District, can evaluate anonymous feedback to inform future decisions related to transit, infrastructure, and electric vehicle interest. Lompoc Valley Medical Center and the City of Santa Barbara join the cue of employers taking advantage of this tool. Employers interested in making data-driven decisions to better serve their workforce’s mobility needs are encouraged to view the comprehensive commuter survey (select the option of “test” as the employer). For personalized guidance and support, employers are advised to reach out to SBCAG directly.
