In this guide you’ll find transit services for travel in Santa Barbara County and connections with neighboring counties – serving residents, commuters, and tourists. Services are arranged by locality and type. 

Local buses

colt-logoCOLT (City of Lompoc Transit) Daily service in Lompoc, Vandenberg Village and Mission Hills. Regular fare: $1.25 (within the City of Lompoc) and $2.00 (outside the City). Monthly passes: $40 (unlimited use within the City) and $60 (unlimited use outside the City). There are discounted senior, disabled, and student passes. Guadalupe Shuttle  Monday-Friday rides anywhere within the city of Guadalupe.
By reservation only. Regular fare: $0.50. Senior, disabled, and student fare: $0.25. 1(805) 922-8476

MTD_Final

MTD (Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District) – Daily service in Carpinteria, Montecito, Santa Barbara, and Goleta. Regular fare: $1.75. Ten-ride pass: $11.50. Monthly pass: $52. Downtown-Waterfront Shuttles (along State Street and Cabrillo Blvd.) fare: $0.50. Discounts for youth, senior, disabled and medicare. Bus-tracker phone app. 1(805) 963-3366.

RTA-Route 10 (San Luis Obispo) – Daily service in Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. Regular fare: $1.50–$3 depending on distance. 7-day pass: $14. 31-day pass: $44. Senior, disabled and student discounts. 1(805) 541-2228

SYVT-logoSanta Ynez Valley Transit  Serving Santa Ynez, Buellton, and Solvang. Regular one-way fare is $1.50. Dial-A-Ride service for seniors. For more information, call 688-5452.

smatlogoSMAT (Santa Maria Area Transit)  Serving Santa Maria, Orcutt and Tanglewood. Regular passes are $1.25 ($1 for students and only $.60 for seniors and persons with disabilities). Regional buses

BREEZE_LogoBreeze – Weekday commuter bus service linking Santa Maria, Vandenberg AFB and Lompoc as well as new service connecting Santa Maria to Los Alamos, Solvang and Buellton. $2 cash fare, $10 and $20 value cards, and $75 monthly passes. Discounts available for senior/Medicare/ADA travelers. Passes and value cards can be purchased onboard the bus, and value cards are also available for purchase at many locations in Santa Maria, Lompoc and Orcutt. Chumash Casino Bus – Shuttles serving the Chumash Casino from Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Goleta. 1-800-CHUMASH.

CEA-LogoClean Air Express – Weekday Commuter Service: A weekday commuter bus program serving residents of Northern Santa Barbara County (Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang and Buellton) commuting to their jobs in Goleta and Santa Barbara, providing a fast, convenient, and money-saving way to get to work. Fares are $150 for a monthly pass, $50 for a 10-Ride pass, and $7 cash for a single ride. Passes can be purchased at the City of Lompoc (COLT) office, the Santa Maria Area Transit (SMAT) office, the MTD Transit Center in Santa Barbara, or through the mail. Clean Air Express Saturday Service: Commuters, tourists, and residents can travel both directions between Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley (Buellton, Solvang and Los Olivos). Riders can start in the Santa Ynez Valley or Santa Barbara and get a return trip in the late afternoon. Fares and ticket info are the same as above.

VCTC_LogoCoastal Express by VCTC – Provides daily service between Oxnard, Ventura, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and, during peak hours, Goleta and UCSB. There is also a new loop that serves Ventura and Carpinteria exclusively. Fares are $105.00 per calendar month or $3.00 per ride. Guadalupe Flyer  Providing service between Guadalupe and Santa Maria. Regular one-way fare is $1.50. Monthly passes are available for $45. For more information, call 922-8476.

Trains

AMTRAK –  The Pacific Surfliner offers five northbound trains and five southbound trains daily, all serving Santa Barbara and Goleta stations. It has modern bi-level cars with panoramic windows, reclining seats with footrests, outlets for laptops, free WiFi, and bike and surfboard racks. CCSCentral Coast Shuttle to LAX –  Provides airport shuttle service between Santa Maria, Buellton, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and LAX. They also offer private and corporate charter and tour service.

easy-lift-web-logoEasy Lift  Provides Dial-a-Ride service on the South Coast from Ellwood (Goleta) through Carpinteria. Dial-a-Ride service is restricted to disabled individuals who are not able to use MTD and fares are $3.50. To make reservations, call 681-1181. Youth organizations in Santa Barbara County may also inquire about service for their youth outings.

Guadalupe Shuttle  Providing transportation anywhere within the city of Guadalupe, Monday through Friday. Regular one-way fare is $0.50.

SMOOTH (Santa Maria Organiztion of Transportation Helpers) See Guadalupe Flyer, Guadalupe Shuttle, and Los Alamos Shuttle. SMOOTH also has a Health Shuttle with service from Santa Maria/Guadalupe/Lompoc/Santa Ynez/Solvang to Santa Barbara as well as Senior Dial-a-Ride for seniors making any trips within the Santa Maria/Orcutt area.
